My local hospital is in special measures has been for a long time and its reputation is horrendous… So postcode lottery is probably bang on. I did have an MRI of my brain i think 5/6 years back as i started to get vestibular migraines after the meningitis/encephalitis. I don’t think anything was mentioned about it then but not sure if it would have been the area they were looking at? Plus was a normal mri not standing one. At that point they were pretty thorough but i was under neurology dept then. Rheumatologist just seemed to be of the opinion of let’s rule out vascular EDS to cover our backs then bye there’s nothing we can do…
I’ve been in with POTS type episodes since (get out of bed and pass out, on standing pass out again) but I’ve had 5 day heart monitors, ecg and 72 hr BP monitors plus tilt table test and nothings come up other than slightly low BP so that was ruled out and haven’t had a serious one for about 3 years because i drink tons to help with BP.
They missed two fractured vertebrae with my nan a few months back in a&e, thankfully was picked up a couple of weeks later after she was moved to a different hospital. I know it’s not always as simple as taking an xray and you can see, but just drives me nuts. Missing a broken finger is one thing, back is an entirely different story…
I reckon they’re probably sick of the sight of me by now.
