In your case you’ve been the opposite.
Funnily enough Isaac Newton was short-sighted, but it wasn’t diagnosed as such in those days. So he could read without glasses into his 80s, but even as a boy couldn’t work on the family farm because he couldn’t see sheep in the distance; and was considered unsocial because he couldn’t /didn’t recognise people on the street.
